Crimes of the Heart by Beth Henley: Saturday, December 15, 1:00 pm – Casting 4 women, 2 men. Roles include Lenny (early-mid 30s; the surrogate “mama” of her syblings; the put-upon sister who stayed home to care for her over-bearing and unpleasant grandparents), Meg (mid-late 20s; the middle child, a guilt-ridden hopeless romantic and compulsive liar who should have made it as a singer but works accounts at a dog food company instead), and Babe (early-mid 20s; hiding a deep depression, the popular former beauty queen who always followed the rules until her bully-husband’s abuse became too much); Chick (early-mid 30s; a holier-than-thou relative with small-town society connections, enjoys taunting the sisters and pecking at their flaws); Doc (mid-late 30s; Meg’s former boyfriend now married, a small-town doctor with a quiet passion for Meg), and Barnette Lloyd (mid-late 20s; a fresh-out-of-law-school small-town lawyer whose awkward manner disguises his sharpness and resourcefulness, nursing a crush on Babe since high school.) This production will be directed by OKCTC Artistic Director Rachel Irick. Performance run is two weekends February 8-17. Visit the Dramatist Play Service website for more details.
