Arts Collinwood Gallery invites members and non-members to submit artwork for a juried exhibition that celebrates the transformative process of urban renewal and reuse. Work will be accepted that best exemplifies the theme of  VACANCY/NO VACANCY.

Juror and Awards:
Jon Seydl, Cleveland Museum of Art:  The Paul J. and Edith Ingalls Vignos, Jr. Curator of European Paintings and Sculpture.

First Prize: $1,000     Second Prize:  $500     Third Prize:  $250    Merit Prizes:  $50 A minimum of 30 works of art will be chosen for the exhibit.  A minimum of $2,000 in total cash prizes will be awarded.  In addition the Waterloo Arts Gallery Committee will be selecting one to five artists to participate in solo or duo exhibitions at Waterloo Arts in the 2014 or 2015 gallery seasons.

Entries:  
Each artist may submit up to three pieces from artists who reside anywhere in the United States or Canada.  All work must have been executed within the last five years and be available for sale.   Original work in all two-dimensional and three-dimensional media may be submitted.  Time based or electronic media will NOT be accepted. No work may exceed 36 inches in any dimension or fifty pounds in weight.

Fees:  A non refundable fee of $15 (one pieces); $24 (two pieces); or $30 (three pieces)

Timeline:

  • June 14, 2013 – Call For Entries opens
  • July 30, 2013, 11:59:59 pm Eastern Time;  Deadline for Entry
  • August 16, 2013 – Jurors notification sent
  • September 20, 2013 – shipped artwork due at Arts Collinwood Gallery
  • October 4, 2013 – exhibition opening
  • November 15, 2013 – exhibition closes

All entries must be submitted electronically through Entrythingy.com.  Use of Entrythingy for submission purposes is free to the artist.
